Billionaires For Bush’s War

On September 24th, Billionaires for Bush’s War convoyed to DC in a
line of stretch Hummer limousines to support President Bush's energy-industry-growth-initiative
(aka “Operation Iraqi Freedom”). Never before has war been quite
so profitable for the corporate elite, and we wanted to say, “Thanks, George.”
Where’s the Profit in Peace?
Cindy Sheehan may not be making any money off the war, but we couldn’t
be happier! So America’s forces didn’t find any weapons of mass
destruction; they’ve sustained massive casualties and they may have failed
to rebuild Iraq, but they sure have provided us with unprecedented stock returns!
Billionaires For Bush’s War Say…
WHO NEEDS AN EXIT STRATEGY? WE’VE GOT A PROFIT STRATEGY!
With profits up 284% at Halliburton, this war is WAY too good to stop now. Still not convinced? Let’s think about all the other ways the Iraq War is great for the corporate elite:
$ To the Victor Go the Spoils!
Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown and Root flat out LOST $1.8 Billion taxpayer
dollars in Iraq, but that didn’t stop the US Army from awarding them an additional
$70 Million in “award” fees. Don’t know what “award” fees are? Neither do we,
but we’ll take ‘em!
$ Protect Our Contractors!
Have no fear, AECOM, General Electric, Raytheon, Exxon-Mobil, ConocoPhilips:
George W. Bush has the whole military out there to safeguard your profits. Just think about how they rushed to protect Iraq’s oil wells at the start of the war, while museums and hospitals were looted. Our private contractors even have the contractual right to withhold services if they deem conditions too dangerous.
It is a war zone, after all...but whether we deliver those meals or not, we get paid anyway!
$ PERMA-WAR
This whole War on Terror thing is just what we’ve been looking for: a neverending profit generator!
As George W. Bush puts future generations of Americans further into hoc to pay for our massive no-bid military contracts, we have to keep ‘em scared so they keep their wallets open and their mouths shut.
In the quest for infinite profits, every penny counts. Thanks, kids.
$ Old Enough for Fractions? You’re Old Enough for the Army!
Billionaires for Bush’s War wholeheartedly support sending recruiters into public schools. (As long as they stay in poor neighborhoods—Leave Choate Alone!) Sixth grade seems like a great year to start training for the dangerous job of defending our bottom line.
And excuse us, but has anyone else noticed the thousands of Gulf Coast refugees just sitting around in shelters? Why not send them to fight in Baghdad?
And what are we doing allowing soldiers to come home to the Gulf Coast to salvage their ruined communities? Billionaires For Bush’s War say, “National Guard, Get Back on Track! Out of New Orleans and Into Iraq!”
Support The War, Not the Troops
Sure Halliburton serves spoiled food and contaminated water to the troops. But hey, buy another bumper sticker or magnet ribbon and stop asking questions, there's a war going on and this is no time to worry about details! Bigger bumber stickers! Bigger bumpers!
War? What is it good for?
If you have to ask, you'll never understand.
But to make it easier, here's a simple graphic:
Huzzah!

** Some at the Pentagon want to know what happened to
$1.8 billion dollars in military contracts that Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg
Brown and Root cannot account for, but that didn’t stop the US Army from
awarding them an additional $70 million dollars in “award” fees.
Don’t know what “award” fees are? Neither do we, but we’ll
take ‘em!
“As of mid-2005, audits conducted by the Pentagon’s Defense Contract
Audit Agency determined that Kellogg Brown and Root, a Halliburton subsidiary,
had $1 billion in "questioned" expenses (i.e. expenses which military
auditors consider "unreasonable") and $442 million in "unsupported"
expenses (i.e. expenses which military auditors have determined contain no receipt
or any explanation on how the expenses were disbursed).”
Recently, top Pentagon brass ignored these audits and rewarded KBR's work with
an additional $70 million in “award” fees anyway.
