Bush during the March 20th United for Peace and Justice Protest. Sporting their most impressive evening wear, the Billionaires for Bush will gather at the intersection of 34th Street and 6th Avenue at 1 PM to thank President Bush for invading Iraq, and continuing to grow the national economy by granting contracts to several American powerhouse companies including Halliburton and AECOM. "The war in Iraq has provided over 70 American companies and individuals, like us, with over $8 billion in contracts," informed Phil T. Rich, co-chair of Billionaires for Bush. "Itıs been an extremely profitable time to own such companies like Halliburton and the Bechtel Group. We canıt thank our President enough for contributing to our pockets—er, I mean economic growth in America." The Department of Defense recently announced newly awarded Iraqi reconstruction contracts totaling over $77 million dollars. Several officers of these companies also hold posts in the Bush Administration. AECOM Technology won a $21 million contract for program management office support. AECOMıs Senior VP, Michael P. Jackson (and also former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation) also happens to have just been named a member of the Presidentıs Commission on Moon, Mars and Beyond. In addition, Halliburton, the Texas oil services company once run by Vice President Dick Cheney, has received over $2.2 billion in defense- related business since September 11. Another Billionaire for Bush, Olive Oilfields, exclaimed, "Bush liberated OUR oil reserves which were somehow trapped under someone else's country." "Four more wars would really enrich our lives," said Monty Moneybucks, Sergeant-of-Arms for Billionaire for Bush. About Billionaires for Bush Billionaires for Bush is a do-it-yourself street theater and media campaign that uses humor to flush out the truth about the Bush administrationıs disastrous economic policies.
